I started this painting of the Fishhook River on a sunny
September morning. I wanted to capture the peacefulness
of the scene by creating dominate cool shadow areas
against the warm bright backlight.
Unable to finish it on location, I finished it in
the studio keeping the feeling I had of that beautiful morning.
